One of the least talked about and one of the most important components to having vibrant health is the balance of energy in your body. Energy is called by many names. Some call it the Holy Spirit or God. The Japanese call it ki (pronounced key); the Chinese call it chi (pronounced chee). In India, it is referred to as prana. This energy has also been called, the ode, universal energy, light energy, subtle energy, life force, vital force and goes by many other names. It is interesting that something that is referred to in literature and in the public that is so important is often so overlooked by healthcare professionals in the United States.

Many of you have heard that in order to attain and maintain good health, it is important to eat properly, drink an adequate amount of water; Get your sleep, manage your stress and exercise. What about this energy? Who uses it?  How does it benefit you? Does balancing it really work?

Ironically, you can find health and exercise professionals in your very midst that incorporate the concepts of balancing energy. Let’s start with chiropractors. Did you know that D.D. Palmer, the founder of chiropractic medicine, would only authorize a chiropractor to practice after the chiropractor was able to feel energy, the vital force, in the patient’s body? How many of you have heard about or practiced yoga? The purpose of yoga is to balance the prana by balancing the chakras (spinning vortices) in the body. Acupuncture and shiatsu balances the chi and ki, respectively in clients. The practice of Tai Chi and Chi Kung seek to achieve the same balance. There are many other healing practices such as Touch for Health, radionics, homeopathy, reiki, quantum and healing touch that seeks to balance the body at an energetic level.

What are the benefits of balanced energy? You may feel better physically, emotionally and spiritually. You may also gain a new found freedom of knowing that you have less invasive alternatives to conventional medicine, alternatives that usually do not include the use of prescription medications. Some of the more direct benefits include reduced pain, better sleep, better organ functioning leading to balanced blood pressure and blood sugar, better breathing and a better handle on stress.  You may also experience a greater sense of well-being and inner peace.

Does balancing your energy really work? Let me share some personal experiences that I have had:

In Shiatsu (Japanese Acupressure), I learned that points along different energy lines called meridians were very powerful. I once used some of these points to resuscitate a friend’s grandmother who was suffering from congestive heart failure.

Using some of the technology that I have, I was able to balance the energy in a dog diagnosed with bone cancer of the leg.  Just a few weeks later, the lame dog was able to run again to the amazement of its owner and veterinarian.

I watched my chiropractor (and mentor) balance my then 70 year old mother’s energy by holding his hands about 6 inches above her spine. Minutes later my mom got off of the table and told me she felt as though he (the chiropractor) had removed her back pain. When I asked him what he did he said he removed the pain (balanced the energy) from her etheric body which removed it from her physical body. My mother’s surgeon was astonished when she walked into his office erect and without pain to cancel her future appointments.

I urge you to further investigate the benefits of healing modalities that balance your energy. I encourage you to be courageous and schedule a treatment, if you have not already done so. If you have, learn about other healing treatments and try them out. According to what I have learned, it is the subtle energy that underlies all health. It influences the muscles, organs, emotions and every component within your body. This could be a game changer for you.

Finally, Larry Dossey, M.D. writes…

“Future generations, looking back, will regard conventional medicine during the twentieth century as being as limited as five-finger arithmetic. A new medicine is arising – one which embraces spirituality and consciousness as emphatically as conventional medicine has dismissed them…”

Be Courageous!
